Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State said on Tuesday that the total number of confirmed cases in the state has come to 387.
Makinde made the disclosure just as the results for 23 suspected cases in the state came back positive.
The governor, doubling as the Chairman, Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force, gave the update through his verified Twitter handle.
He wrote that the cases are from Ibadan South East (5); Lagelu (5); Oluyole (4); Ibadan North (2); Ido (2); Egbeda (2); Akinyele (1); Ona Ara (1) and Ibadan South West (1) local government areas.
The governor’s Tweets read in parts, “The COVID-19 confirmation tests for 23 suspected cases came back positive.
“The cases are from Ibadan South East (5); Lagelu (5); Oluyole (4); Ibadan North (2); Ido (2); Egbeda (2); Akinyele (1); Ona Ara (1) and Ibadan South West (1) local government areas.
“So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State today is 387.
“We thank the @NCDCgov for the donation of medical supplies. We also thank the @CACOVIDng and all other organisations and individuals who have continued to donate to our efforts to contain COVID-19 in Oyo State.
“Call the Emergency Operations Centre if you have any COVID-19 symptoms: cough, fever, tiredness, body ache and shortness of breath.”
