Oyo takes full ownership of LAUTECH

The National Universities Commission, on Friday transferred the ownership of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso to the Oyo State Government.

With this, the Osun State Government would take full ownership of the university’s College of Health Sciences in Osogbo.

The Executive Secretary of NUC, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, made the disclosure at a press briefing in Abuja.

According to him, the resolution was made following the lingering ownership crisis that rocked the university for several years.

Expressing optimism that the development would lay to rest the agelong crisis bedevilling the university, he said Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and his Osun State counterpart, Adegboyega Oyetola, signed a Memorandum of Agreement to ratify the position.
