Aafa Olaadua Tirimisiyu and Mrs. Mufuliatu, parents of Mojeeb, the five-year-old boy who was slain in Ibadan, on Monday, by yet-to-be-identified assailants, have appealed to the state government and the security agencies not to relent in their efforts to track down those responsible for the death of their son.

Mojeeb, the last child of the family, was said to have been killed while defecating in a nearby bush at the back of his father’s house shortly after rainfall, on Monday.

The parents of the deceased, who reside at Tose community, Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State, expressing shock over the incident, said they could not pin anybody down to the death of their son as they maintain cordial relationship with everyone.

His father added that he had no business dealings that could warrant being attacked with anybody nor was there any business relationship gone sour at any time between his family members and the neighbours.

Tirimisiyu said, “After rainfall on Monday, my son said he wanted to defecate so he went to the backyard. After five minutes, he screamed. I went out to ascertain what went wrong. On getting there, he was wreathing in pain.

“He was in a pool of blood. We picked him and he was rushed to the hospital. I do not suspect anyone particularly because I didn’t bear animosity with anyone.”
