Some Ibadan communities were, on Tuesday, submerged with flood water after the downpour that lasted several hours.
In some areas, vehicular and commercial activities were grinded to a halt as parts of the roads were submerged by water.
Among others, places that were affected by the flood are old Ife Road, Ijokodo, Gbekuba and Agbowo.
At Old Ife Road, some vehicles, as well as houses, were submerged by flood.
Occupants of shops and houses in the flood plains were seen moving their belonging away from the flood water as others tried to bail the water.
Those living close to the river and water courses also had difficult time as they struggled to salvage their wares and property.
Commuters in some of the affected areas were seen abandoning the vehicles to move to save havens.
A resident of Old Ife Road, simply identified as Mama Kudi, said, “The bridge that leads to my house has been over flooded. The only way out is to wait until the water recedes before we can cross to our community.”
