The Oluyole Estate residence of former Oyo State governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, was besieged by mourners on Thursday evening as news of his death went viral.

Loyalists of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State and some aides of the former governor with some of his neighbours were seen at the deceased residence shortly after the news broke.

Some female party loyalists were also seen crying uncontrollably. They recounted how the former governor had helped them during trying times.

One of the women disclosed that the late politician paid her children’s ways to school. Others recounted how he helped them in times of need.

Things went tensed as security men, who are manning the late politician’s residence, swooped on Olawale Awe, a reporter working with Parrot Extra, while taking photographs of the residence of the late Ajimobi.

Awe tried to escape but was later arrested by the security men.
It took the intervention of some journalists and some of the aides to the former governor for Awe to be released by the security men.

It was gathered that the APC leadership in the state were already in contact with the family of the late Ajimobi on the burial of their icon.
