Police in Osun State have confirmed the arrest of five persons in connection with the reported killing of a young boy simply named as Kehinde.
A night guard called Adewumi Gbadamosi and a Pastor named Olagunju Adetunji, a resident of Kajola community along the Ilesa-Osogbo expressway, were said to be involved in the boy’s death.
Gbadamosi, who is the alleged prime suspect, said he shot the victim dead while trying to scale the fence at Fiwasaye area in Osogbo recently.
The night guard said, “When I asked him to stop he refused and was trying to run away; that was why I shot him dead. I didn’t know what will happen if I reported to the police so I cut his body into pieces and dumped it in a river.”
Gbadamosi later revealed that he severed the victim’s head and gave it to the pastor on request.
He also confessed to have given part of the flesh of the victim to one Akeem Saka who confessed to the crime.
“I also gave some flesh to a friend who is an auto electrician. I don’t have any need for the rest of the body; I just kept it in my office, at Kajola, where I attend to those seeking spiritual help.”
The cleric however denied receiving the human head from the prime suspect, saying that he only met the man once while seeking spiritual help.
The Commissioner of Police, Wale Olokode, said the suspects confessed to the crime and would be prosecuted after due investigation.
The CP urged the people of the state to always provide useful and timely information that could help nip crime and criminality in the bud.
Exhibits recovered from the suspects included two decomposing legs of the victim, two fried human palms with charms and other fetish objects.
