The presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, has named Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed as his running mate.
Baba-Ahmed is the founder of Baze University, Abuja.
Obi made the announcement in Abuja on Friday.
The LP Vice Presidential candidate, aged 46, was a former lawmaker who represented Kaduna North Senatorial district.
His announcement came barely 24 hours after Doyin Okupe, the Director-General, Peter Obi Campaign Organisation, disclosed his withdrawal as the vice-presidential candidate of the party via his verified Twitter handle.
Earlier, Okupe indicated that his party would announce the new running mate to the presidential candidate.
He wrote, “This afternoon, I submitted my withdrawal letter from the position of the Vice Presidential candidate of the Labour Party to INEC.
“A replacement will be announced by the national chairman of the party shortly. I feel greatly blessed to have been part of the foundation of success for the LP.”
