Top Pentecostal leaders in Nigeria, including Enoch Adeboye, David Oyedepo and William Kumuyi, will gather in Abuja this week to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).
The three-day event, scheduled for February 12 to 14, will hold at the Glory Dome of Dunamis International Gospel Centre (DIGC), Abuja. This was disclosed on Sunday by Paul Enenche, the Senior Pastor of DIGC, which will be hosting the biennial conference in its 100,000-seater auditorium.
A Historic Gathering of Pentecostal Leaders
PFN, founded in 1985, is one of the five blocs of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the umbrella body for Christians in the country. The other blocs include the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN), the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN), the Organisation of African Instituted Churches (OAIC), and the Evangelical Church Winning All/Fellowship of Churches of Christ in Nigeria.
A flyer endorsed by PFN President Wale Oke lists some of Nigeria’s most prominent Pentecostal figures to be present at the event to include Pastor Enoch Adeboye (General Overseer, RCCG); Bishop David Oyedepo (Presiding Bishop, Living Faith Church); Pastor William Kumuyi (General Superintendent, Deeper Christian Life Bible Church); Daniel Olukoya (General Overseer, MFM; Ayo Oritsejafor (Word of Life Bible Church); Mike Okonkwo (TREM); and Margaret Idahosa (Church of God Mission).
Others are David Ibiyeomie (Salvation Ministries); Sam Aboyeji (FourSquare Gospel Church); Mercy Ezekiel (Christian Pentecostal Mission); and Paul Enenche (Dunamis International Gospel Centre).
Other notable speakers include Uma Ukpai, Felix Omobude, Isa El-Buba, Victor Kanmi, Paul Nwachukwu, Cosmas Ilechukwu, John-Praise Daniel, Elijah Abira, Poju Oyemade, William Okoye (All Christians Fellowship Mission), and Isaac Komolafe.
Gospel Ministers and Worship Leaders to Feature
The conference will also feature performances from renowned gospel singers and worship leaders, including Nathaniel Bassey, Dunsin Oyekan, Solomon Lange, and Prospa Ochimana.
As part of preparations, the Glory Dome, which was commissioned in November 2018, has undergone significant renovations ahead of the event.
A Call to Pentecostal Christians
Mr. Enenche has urged Pentecostal Christians across Nigeria to attend, describing the gathering as a week of blessing. Due to the anniversary, Dunamis International Gospel Centre’s Power Communion Service—typically held on Wednesdays—will take place on Tuesday instead.
A Legacy of Leadership
Since its establishment in 1985, PFN has had seven presidents, they are James Boyejo (FourSquare Gospel Church, 1985–1992); Enoch Adeboye (RCCG, 1992–1995); Benson Idahosa (Church of God Mission, 1995–1998); Mike Okonkwo (TREM, 1998–2005); Ayo Oritsejafor (Word of Life Bible Church, 2005–2013); Felix Omobude (New Covenant Gospel Church, 2013–2021) and Wale Oke (Sword of the Spirit Church, 2021 till date).
The 40th-anniversary celebration promises to be a landmark event, bringing together the largest gathering of Pentecostal Christian leaders in Nigeria.
