The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) has called on children across the country to steer clear of criminal activities and immoral behaviour, encouraging them instead to remain focused on building a promising future.
The organization emphasized the importance of self-belief and purposeful living, urging young people to avoid cultism, drug abuse, and other destructive habits that can derail their potential.
According to POCACOV, the initiative—launched by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM—is anchored on the principle of preventive policing.
The National Coordinator, Assistant Commissioner of Police Olabisi Okuwobi, reiterated the dangers of engaging in cult activities and criminality, warning of the long-term consequences.
She noted that POCACOV is dedicated to addressing the root causes of gangsterism, cultism, extremism, and organized crime. The campaign also promotes patriotism, national unity, and the overall development of Nigerian society.
POCACOV encourages children to reject crime and embrace curiosity, courage, and positive values, noting that the small steps they take today can lead to significant achievements in the future.
The campaign also called on parents to play a vital role in securing their children’s future by providing a nurturing environment that fosters good character and learning.
