Members of the public have decried the recent robbery attack on a pharmacy in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The robbery scene was seen in a viral online video.

Two suspected armed robbers broke into a pharmaceutical store in the footage.

The men of the underworld went to the sales point and ordered that they should surrender money from the three staff of the pharmaceutical store. They bolted away immediately after.

Those who reacted to the viral video have described the yet-to-be identified robbery suspects as “inexperienced” and “ordinary thieves” in view of the manner which they carried out their operation.

It was observed that the robbers merely walked in and held their weapons carelessly while they busy themselves with the money that they came for.

Awoyele Emmanuel said, “The sales people there don’t have mind. It’s pump action…single wrestling with them next time as they back you stealing money.”

Ola Sammie said, “They went in with full confidence because they know that there is no database or competent law enforcement to track them down.”

Ifeoluwa Gideon said, “These ones are not armed robbers, they are thieves. Didn’t you see the local wooden gun, the one that Dagunro and Abija (Yoruba movie actors) used in films?”

Some of those who gave their comments on the robbery incident speculated that the pharmacy that was attacked is at Old Ife Road in Ibadan, others said it was at Agodi area of the city.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Olugbenga Fadeyi, said he had yet to be briefed on the incident. He, however, said the command would make necessary findings and brief the public on the outcome of their investigation in the course of the week.

Fadeyi said, “The pharmaceutical store must have made official report but I have not been briefed on where that type of thing happened. Probably by tomorrow, I shall get details from the Divisional Police Officer that is concerned.”
