Rainstorm destroys Agodi Governor’s Office roof top

The downpour that lasted some hours on Thursday evening reportedly destroyed the roof top of the Oyo State Governor’s Office at the Agodi State Secretariat. 

Report had it also that the rainstorm damaged some shops at the Police Officers’ Wife Association Complex at Sango area of Ibadan.

The rain, which started around 6pm in the area, lasted about one and half hours, also wreaking havoc in other parts of the city.

A top government official, who pleaded anonymity, said that the government had already taken actions to fix the damages and forestall future occurrence at the Governor’s Office.

He was quoted as saying, “Government has already taken step to fix it. We will fix this tonight; you won’t see anything here tomorrow if you come here.” 

At the POWA shops, some of the traders lamented that the disaster would affect their businesses.

One of the traders (pleaded anonymity), said that she incurred huge loss in the unfortunate incident.

“The incident affected me and several others. I lost many things as a businesswoman and other people also incurred losses,” she stated
