The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, has been rated the 11th best university in Nigeria.
The ranking was done by the Scientific Index Limited, a leading global ranking body based in Turkey.
The development is contained in a statement signed by the organisation:s Public Relations Officer, Lekan Fadeyi, made available to journalists, on Wednesday.
The statement read that LAUTECH ranked high in the production of researchers as the 11th best Nigerian university in 2021.
Information accessed on the website of the organisation via real-time analysis equally ranked the university as the 74th in Africa based on the performance of the university’s scholars.
“Among top scholars from the university are Prof. Agbaje Lateef, Prof. Olugbenga Bello, and Prof. Abass Olajire, who were placed 32nd, 48th and 76th respectively in Nigeria.
“Lateef is from the Department of Pure and Applied Biology, while Bello and Olajire are from the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry,” it stated.
The LAUTECH acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mojeed Liasu, expressed satisfaction on the performances of the scholars.
The statement quoted Liasu as expressing delight that the scholars were consistently among top 100 scholars in the nation’s ranking.
