Residents of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital have commended Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration on the ‘Operation Zero Pothole’ initiative being executed within the metropolis.
It will be recalled that the Oyo State Executive Council approved the ‘Operation Zero Potholes’ Initiative on Tuesday, April 28.
At the takeoff of the project, former Commissioner, Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport, Prof. Raphael Afonja, said it was in line with the desire of the governor to “immediately fix all potholes in the state starting from Ibadan, the state capital.”
Road users noted that four months after, the Operation Zero Pothole initiative has eased the traffic on some major roads within the capital city.
Among the roads that were reached are the Nigeria Breweries link road to Monatan; Immigration-Yidi; Oke- Bola- Oke Ado-Molete and Iwo Road -Agbala-Ile Marun roads.
Checks show that the traffic along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway from the Iwo-Road end has eased off following the rehabilitation of the road.
It was also learnt that the traffic situation along the Oke-Bola/Oke-Ado axis has eased off thereby making the Dugbe and Ogunpa Market axis more accessible.
