The Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum is in a crucial meeting with Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, in his office in Abuja
The members of the Forum, led by their Chairman, Governor Bala Muhammed of Bauchi State, were said to have arrived at his office around 12:40 pm.
With Bala were governors of Adamawa, Ahmadu Fintiri; Plateau, Caleb Muftwang; and Taraba, Agbu Kefas.
The minister led the governors into a closed-door meeting shortly after their arrival at his office.
The meeting of the PDP Governors’ Forum with Wike is said to be strongly connected to the crisis between him and Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State.
The crisis, which degenerated on Monday, led to moves by the minister to impeach Fubara. Security was beefed up around the Rivers State House of Assembly as some aggrieved youths rose to stop the planned impeachment move by some of the state legislators.
Recall that President Bola Tinubu waded into the matter by arranging a meeting between the two politicians on Tuesday.
