Rotaract District 9125 Nigeria has installed Adebayo Sodiq Babatunde as its 15th District Rotaract Representatives.
The event, held on Saturday, at Atlantis Event Centre, Osogbo, Osun State, saw Babatunde as the last DRR of District 9125 as the Rotary International approved that it should be splitted into two separate districts.
Rotaract District 9125 Nigeria comprises 23 states and the Federal Capital Territory. Following the approval by Rotary International, Rotaract District 9126 and District 9127 were created.
The event had in attendance Rotaractors from all over the country, including awardees and invited guests. It was indicated on the occasion that the District gave 20 humanitarian awards to some personalities who did the business of humanity in their communities.
The beneficiaries of the awards included Rotarian Samuel Kolawole, MD, CEO University Press; Mr. Adesina Adedayo, former President, CITN; Rotarian Olusike Onafowokan, former Assistant District Rotaract Representative, Old District 9120, Executive Member, Wicare Lecota Foundation; Olayiwola Hairu Elewuro, former President, Rotaract Club of LAUTECH; Mr. Bolarinwa Kasheef Ololade, CEO, Fly Multi Concept Nigeria Limited; and Mr Ajani Akinyemi Olufemi, CEO, Gimafort Nigeria Limited among others.
PDRR Tunji Akinosi, Federal Honorable representing Ado-Odo Ota Federal Constituency and Dr Segun Ojo, MD, CEO, Knowledge-Pool Consulting Initiative were called to the District Hall of Fame in recognition of their accomplishments to the growth of the organization and human race.
Rotarian Adebayo seized the occasion to reaffirm Rotary’s commitment to humanitarian activities as he donated two sewing machines and a brand new laptop to some beneficiaries. This, he said, was aimed at creating sustenance for the beneficiaries.
He gave the gathering an assurance that the empowerment would continue throughout his Rotary year.
