Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC–Oyo South) has equipped the Federal Science and Technical College (FSTC), Igangan, with high-capacity solar inverters and panels, providing the institution with uninterrupted electricity supply.
The senator’s media office disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists on Friday.

The project, executed by Casbern Global Services Limited, will power classrooms, workshops, and laboratories, transforming teaching, learning, and innovation at the school.
The Asigangan of Igangan, Oba Rafiu Ariwoola, hailed the initiative as “a laudable and enormous blessing” to both the college and the wider community. He described Senator Alli as a “promise keeper,” noting that the solar installation, carried out in his honour, would be remembered as a landmark gift.
The monarch added that the community, including parents and stakeholders, would formally express appreciation to the lawmaker.
Mr. Ademola Adegoke, Chairman of the FSTC Parents-Teachers Association, said the school had never received such impactful support from any representative.
He recalled that when they reached out to Senator Alli again three weeks ago, the senator promptly facilitated the project, which was completed within a week.
Similarly, the school’s Principal, Mr. Kehinde Onatayo, praised the intervention as “massive and transformative,” stressing that years of unstable power had hindered innovation in laboratories, ICT centres, and workshops.
He assured that the school would maximise the solar project to strengthen science and technical education.
Senator Alli explained that the intervention reflects his commitment to promoting functional education, bridging learning gaps, and preparing young Nigerians for a knowledge-driven economy.
He emphasised that renewable energy not only cuts costs and protects the environment but also inspires innovation that fuels sustainable national development.
The senator pledged to sustain people-centred projects, reaffirming his dedication to quality education and green energy adoption.
