Senator Sharafadeen Alli from Oyo South District has extended heartfelt sympathy to traders and business owners affected by the devastating fire that engulfed Aleshinloye Market on Tuesday night, destroying over 100 shops and goods worth millions of naira.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas, and made available to newsmen on Thursday in Ibadan, Senator Alli described the incident as a tragic loss that has brought significant hardship to the market community.
“This unfortunate event is a major setback for our hardworking traders and business owners. My thoughts and prayers are with all those who have suffered losses,” he said.
Expressing deep concern, the lawmaker urged the victims to remain resilient in the face of adversity.
He called on the Oyo State Government and relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire and implement measures to prevent future occurrences.
Senator Alli further appealed for prompt support and relief to help the victims rebuild their lives and businesses, reassuring them of his unwavering commitment to collaborating with stakeholders to provide necessary assistance.
He emphasised the need for collective efforts to rebuild and enhance safety measures in markets across the state to prevent similar tragedies.
