Senator Sharafadeen Alli representing Oyo South in the National Assembly has expressed profound sorrow over the death of the esteemed Islamic preacher, Sheikh Muhyideen Ajani Bello.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas, and made available to journalists on Friday in Ibadan, Senator Alli described Sheikh Bello’s demise as a significant loss to both the Islamic community and society at large.
Sheikh Bello, a fearless and renowned preacher, passed away on Friday at his Ibadan residence at the age of 84.
The Senator praised the late cleric as a towering spiritual figure whose teachings and exemplary lifestyle left an indelible mark on countless lives across Nigeria and beyond. He lauded Sheikh Bello’s unwavering dedication to Islam, his advocacy for peace and unity, and his steadfast commitment to instilling the fear of Allah in the hearts of believers.
“Sheikh Muhyideen Bello was a spiritual beacon whose words guided millions of souls. He embodied piety, wisdom, and humility, consistently reminding us of our duties to Allah and humanity. His passing is a great loss, not only to the Islamic community but also to all who value justice, kindness, and righteousness,” Senator Alli stated.
The lawmaker noted that Sheikh Bello’s sermons were a source of hope and inspiration, promoting faith and morality among Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
Extending his heartfelt condolences to the late preacher’s family, disciples, and the entire Muslim Ummah, Senator Alli urged them to take solace in the impactful and exemplary life that Sheikh Bello lived. He called on all to honour the cleric’s legacy by upholding the values he tirelessly preached throughout his life.
