The Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Infrastructure, Mr James Adepoju, is dead.
News of his death went viral on Wednesday but the actual cause of Adepoju’s death was not known as of the time of filing this report.
It was gathered that Governor Makinde received the news of his demise as he resumed to office after a returning from a trip to the United States of America.
However, the governor had yet to speak officially on the death of his late aide, however close sources that spoke on the condition of anonymity, said he was obviously devastated by the sad news.
Adepoju, who was head of Prize Engineering Consultants Limited before being appointed as Special Adviser, was described by many as young, focused and energetic.
He was a graduate of Civil Engineering from the University of Ibadan, and had been involved in several projects and consultancy services.
He played a vital role in the construction of Igbeti-Ogbomoso Road. He also had his input in the construction of Oshodi Transport Interchange; rehabilitation/upgrading of Oshodi-Murtala Muhammed International Airport Road; Oshodi-Abule Egba Bus Rapid Transit project and VGC Flood Control Project, among others.
