.Police links fire incident to unidentified hoodlums
Yoruba socio-cultural activist, Sunday Adeyemo, otherwise called Sunday Igboho, said on Tuesday that he does not have any accredited Twitter or Facebook account nor does he have any handler running such accounts for him or in his interest.
Sunday Igboho therefore, said he would not take responsibility on any information that is credited to him on the Facebook and Twitter accounts.
The activist gave the indication during an interview with journalists on the fire incident on one of his properties in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Tuesday.
Several social media accounts bearing Sunday Igboho’s identities popped up recently following the seven-day eviction notice which he gave to killer herdsmen in Oyo State.
The activist urged the people to be wary against being scammed by the fraudulent elements.
Sunday Igboho said, “I don’t have any Twitter account and I don’t write on Facebook. Whoever is behind the Twitter account is merely using my name for ulterior motives.
“I know nothing about that. If you have anything to do with Twitter just be very careful with those hiding under my name to spread falsehood. If someone is interacting with you on Facebook in my name, be careful not to fall victim.”
Meanwhile, the Oyo State Police Command has attributed the burning of Sunday Igboho’s house at Soka, Ibadan to some unidentified hoodlums.
The police said that the hoodlums came to the house in the early hours of Tuesday in a Hummer bus and Micra shooting sporadically.
The hoodlums reportedly bolted away after setting the house ablaze.
A statement by the Police Public Relation Officer of the Command, Gbenga Fadeyi, read that the mini sitting room of the house got burnt in the process.
However, the worth of the properties that got burnt has yet to be estimated.
The statement read in parts, “Immediately the Divisional Police Officer, Sanyo got wind of the incident, he contacted Fire Service while he also went to the scene for on-the-spot assessment.”
Fadeyi, however, said that the fire was eventually extinguished while investigation has commenced into the incident.
