The electorate have been vindicated by the Supreme Court’s verdict which validated the victory of Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima as president and vice president respectively in the February 25 general election, Senator Sharafadeen Alli of Oyo South District has said.

Alli, who is the Senate Committee Chairman on the Independent National Electoral Commission, expressed his joy at the verdict in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas.

The statement specifically described the verdict as “a vindication of the people’s choice,” and congratulated the duo on the Supreme Court’s pronouncement.

Their victory in the election was vigorously challenged by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, candidates of the People’s Democratic Party and the Labour Party respectively.
The statement quoted the lawmaker as expressing the hope that Tinubu and Shettima would continue to lead with integrity as well as transparency to make Nigeria a better place.

It urged the opposition parties to accept the judgement, respect the will of the people, and work with the government to move the country forward.

It assured that Tinubu and Shettima’s leadership would bring more development projects, better infrastructure and more prosperity for Nigerians.

The statement read that “The duo have the experience, knowledge and vision to steer the country towards greatness.”

It urged Nigerians to support the current administration and work together with it in order to build a better Nigeria, noting that with unity, hard work and determination, Nigeria would become a prosperous and peaceful nation.
