As the Christmas festival approaches, the Nigerian Railway Corporation has increased the number of train trips from Lagos to Ibadan.
It was learnt that the frequency has doubled to four times daily with effect from Monday.
The Corporation said that the additional train trips would run for three weeks to accommodate the anticipated surge in passenger traffic during the Yuletide.
NRC’s Lagos District Manager, Jerry Oche, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos on Sunday that trains would operate from 8am, from December 20 to 4pm on January 9.
Oche said that the increase in the number of trips would decongest road traffic.
He urged the passengers not to board the trains with more than 12kg luggage.
