The Lagos-Ibadan and the Abuja-Kaduna standard gauge rail services are billed to resume operations today (Saturday) as the routes open at 1pm and 9:15am respectively following the suspension of strike by the railway workers.
The Managing Director, Nigerian Railways Corporation, Fidet Okhiria, reportedly made the disclosure in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria.
The NRC management, in conjunction with the union, directed the workers to resume with immediate effect in a joint communique on Friday night.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the railway services were paralysed across the country, on Thursday, as workers of the corporation embarked on a three-day warning strike over staff welfare.
