Unknown gunmen abduct 3 farmers in Ibadan

Some yet-to-be identified gunmen have reportedly abducted at least, three persons in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
It was gathered that the victims, who are said to be farmers, were kidnapped at two different locations in Oluyole Local Government Area of of the state on Monday.

The man and a couple were said to have been abducted at different times on their farms near Alabameji Village, Sanyo area and Soka area of Ibadan.

The neighbouring communities, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, are less than one kilometre apart.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Oyo State Command, Mr Olugbenga Fadeyi, said a couple was abducted and that investigations had commenced into the circumstances surrounding their abduction.

He said, “A couple was abducted at Alabameji village, Sanyo area yesterday (Monday) at about 2:20 pm in their farm.

“The Divisional Police Officer and his team immediately raced to the scene for on-the-spot assessment. Investigations have commenced and the police are on the trail of the hoodlums please.”

Their abduction came weeks after four people, including two bankers were kidnapped along the Ijebu-Ode/ Ibadan Road.
