Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State has appointed Senator Hassan Mohammed Gusau as Deputy Governor.
This came following the impeachment of the former Deputy Governor of the state, Mahdi Aliyu Gusau.
Zamfara Assembly, in its resumed plenary on Wednesday, impeached Aliyu Gusau as Deputy Governor with immediate effect.
In a statement, the Zamfara Assembly spokesperson, Mustafa Jafaru Kaura, said that the former Deputy Governor was found guilty of all the allegations levelled against him.
Aliyu Gasau defected from the People’s Democratic Party to the All Progressive Congress in June 2021. The newly appointed Deputy Governor represents the Zamfara Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly.
