The 40th day Fidau Prayers for the late Senator Abiola Ajimobi, is billed to hold Thursday.
The former Oyo State Governor, Ajimobi, was until his death, on June 25, the acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress.
The Islamic prayers is expected to start by 11am, at the Yemoja Street, Oluyole Estate residence of the diseased in Ibadan, Oyo State.
A statement signed by Bolaji Tunji, Press Secretary to the late Ajimobi, indicated that the event would strictly be a family affair, in compliance with the COVID-19 protocols as laid down by the National Centre for Disease Control.
It read in parts, “In line with COViD-19 protocols as laid down by NCDC, the event will strictly be a family affair.
“However, there will be a live coverage of the event on the National Television Authority from 11am onwards. Please note, the event will also be streamed.”
The Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheik Ajigbotomokekere, and a renowned Islamic cleric, Alhaji Muyideen Bello, are expected to lead the prayers.
