A younger wife of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, has described those calling her an opportunitist for marrying the monarch in order to become a queen as mischievous elements.

Against the claim that the 81-year-old king was too old for her, Olori Anuoluwapo, said Oba Adeyemi is still a young man at heart.

It is widely believed that most of the Alaafin’s younger wives were forced to marry him due to economic pressure.

However, Olori Anuoluwapo, while reacting to the allegation via the social media, said she was not forced to marry the Alaafin by anybody.

According to the young queen, her decision to marry the leading monarch was deliberate, hence, the rumour on social media could not be substantiated.

The queen wrote, “What is it that we haven’t heard/seen on social media? (She’s married to an old man all in the name of being a queen, whereas most of those people criticising you are on your DM begging you for one or two things.

“Please, my husband isn’t an old man; my life, my choice. Please, say something meaningful. I am a social media person; there’s no dispute about that.

“I know some people will still say who sends her to say all this rubbish. I don’t care. Free to say anything; your opinions are only valid to you. Goodluck.”
