The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has sacked 20 members of the Cross River State House of Assembly who defected from the People’s Democratic Party to the ruling All Progressive Congress.
On Monday, in a judgement delivered by Justice Taiwo Taiwo, the court held that the lawmakers, having abandoned the political party on whose platform they rode to power, should vacate their seats.
The judgement followed a suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/975/2021, which was filed by the PDP.
