EFCC arrests Army deserter, 33 others over internet fraud in Osun

Officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibadan Zonal Office, on Tuesday arrested a former soldier, Adebisi Jamiu and 33 other suspects in connection with internet fraud.

Mr Wilson Uwujaren, Head, Media and Publicity, stated that the suspects were arrested at different points in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

Jamiu, a 22-year-old ex-soldier, and others were arrested following the intelligence on their alleged involvement in cybercrime.
The names of the arrested suspects are Muritala Lateef, Wasiu Olajide, Wasiu Sadiq, Olaniran Abiodun, Ayodeji Tosin, Olaniran Tayo, Oginni Oluwaseun, Oginni Olatunde, Ojuade Oluwafemi and Ibrahim Wande.

Also arrested are Oladiran Olayinka, Akinjobi Akinwunmi, Abayomi Aderohunmi, Olaoluwa Temitope, Idowu Olawale, Lawrence Taiwo, Ojo Gbenga, Tiamiyu Farouk, Oladele Seun, Akiniyi Boluwatife, Olaoluwa Mutiu, Olakunle Omolofe, Olalere Samad, Edbadon Johnson, Oketunbi Kayode, Gbeyide Tomiwa, Oluwanisola Elmuqsit, Bathlomew John, Ibikunle James, Olamide Oluwaseyi, Yusuf Mohammed, Adebola Ibrahim and Ajayi Muyiwa.

Uwujaren disclosed that the suspects had given their statements to the Commission and would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
