Governments at all levels have been tasked on the need to pay desirable attention to security by investing heavily in it.

Chief Segun Oni, governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party in the coming election in Ekiti State, made the call in his reaction to killings, on Sunday, of some worshippers at the St Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State.

Describing the attack as senseless, Oni declared that stakeholders must rise and fight the evil of terrorism and insecurity in the land.

According to him, the attack on innocent and defenseless worshippers, on Sunday, which left scores dead and several others injured, is shocking, sad and unwarranted.

A statement issued by Moses Jolayemi, Chairman, Media Advisory Council for Segun Oni Campaign Organisation, read that the incident was an attack on Ekiti State.

It read, “We must rise to fight this evil. This is the time to pay serious attention to our security needs and invest heavily in our security infrastructure at state and federal levels.

“We must never allow terrorism and evil to thrive or define us a people.”

The statement condoled families of the victims, the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) and the people of the state on the killings.
