The Federal Government has appealed to striking health workers, particularly nurses, to suspend their industrial action, assuring that all contentious issues can be amicably resolved through dialogue.

Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, made this known on Wednesday while briefing State House correspondents after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting chaired by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Prof. Pate revealed that a crucial meeting has been scheduled with the leadership of nurses and doctors on Friday to address the grievances that led to the strike.
He noted that the government has reviewed the issues raised by the striking workers and has already taken steps to resolve them.
In a related development, the Minister announced the Federal Executive Council’s approval of a new Oncology Centre at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.
He added that the Tinubu-led administration is committed to transforming the nation’s health sector through strategic investments and reforms.
