Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has commiserated with the President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Bishop Francis Wale Oke, on the demise of his mother, late Mrs Elizabeth Areola Oke.
During his visit to the Bishop, who is also the President of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries at his residence, Governor Makinde expressed condolences to the clergyman and the entire Oke family.
The governor thanked God that Mama lived a good and fulfilled life worthy of emulation before returning to her maker.
The Oyo State governor described the deceased as a blessed woman whose womb was privileged to birth great children, whose lives have impacted humanity positively both within Nigeria and globally.
He enjoined the Bishop and the rest of the family to take heart and give thanks to God for making Mama live to a ripe old age of 97years.
The governor further used the opportunity to assure the Bishop and the generality of the Oyo State populace of his steadfast commitment to the welfare and development of the people of the state.
According to him, the governor and his team had been working tirelessly to put in place a formidable foundation upon which Oyo State is gradually being built to become an economically developed and viable state in the nearest future.
In his response, Bishop Oke, on behalf of the family thanked the governor for the honour of taking time out of his busy schedule to condole with him and his family on the loss of the Matriarch of the Oke family.
The PFN president assured the governor of continuous support and fervent prayer to God for his success and for the emergence of a credible and God- fearing successor who will further take the state to greater heights.
