Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, on Thursday, presented a Toyota Land Cruiser SUV and a Pick-up pilot van to Senator Lekan Balogun hours to his installation as the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The Chairman, Ibadan South East Local Government Area, Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode, presented the car key to Balogun at his Alarere residence, Ibadan.
The Olubada-designate, whose appointment was approved by the Oyo State governor on 14th February, would be coronated tomorrow (Friday).
Those expected at the event which is billed to hold at the Mapo Hall, Ibadan, are senior government officials, leading politicians, business moguls, traditional rulers and other dignitaries from all walks of life.
Secretary to the State Government, Olubamiwo Adeosun, who doubles as the Chairman of the Olubadan Coronation Committee, on Wednesday, said that the state government was ready to host a grand event, befitting of the status of the highly revered traditional ruler.
She congratulated the new Olubadan, his immediate family, the Olubadan-in-Council and sons and daughters of Ibadan at home and in the diaspora.
Adeosun urged all to pray for a successful reign for the incoming monarch.
