The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Oluyole and District Society, has unveiled the maiden edition of its official newsletter, ICAN Oluyole Insight, describing the publication as a major milestone aimed at promoting professionalism, knowledge sharing and effective communication among members of the district.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, the Chairman of the District, Dr. Olawale Samson Dopemu, described the launch as the birth of a lasting legacy that would strengthen the image of the Society and serve as a platform for intellectual engagement.

Dopemu, who acknowledged former chairmen of the district, elders, fellows, executive members and other guests, said the newsletter represents more than the introduction of a publication.
According to him, ICAN Oluyole Insight is a platform dedicated to knowledge sharing, professional excellence, innovation and effective communication among members and the wider community.
He noted that the accounting profession is evolving rapidly due to technological advancement, changing regulations, sustainability reporting, corporate governance reforms, artificial intelligence and the growing expectations of stakeholders.

The district chairman stressed the need for accountants to remain informed, adaptable and proactive, adding that the publication would showcase the intellectual capacity of members through insightful articles, technical updates, research findings, interviews, reports on society activities and professional achievements.
He said the newsletter would also strengthen the identity of the district and become a valuable reference material for practitioners, academics, students, regulators, business leaders and other stakeholders seeking credible perspectives on accounting, taxation, auditing, finance, governance and economic development.
Dopemu commended the editorial team, newsletter committee, executive members, contributors and sponsors for their commitment to making the project a reality.

He urged members to take ownership of the initiative by contributing quality articles, sharing innovative ideas, celebrating professional achievements and supporting the sustainability of the publication.
“The success of ICAN Oluyole Insight will depend not only on the Editorial Team but on the active participation of every member of our Society,” he said.
In his remarks, the Editor-in-Chief of ICAN Oluyole Insight, Dr. Oluwatosin Olusola Adesina, said the newsletter was designed to document the Society’s activities while keeping members informed, educated and inspired.
He said the publication also aims to amplify the voices of the next generation of professionals and remind members of the higher calling of the accountancy profession.
According to Adesina, the maiden edition is structured into six sections comprising the Chairman’s Message, Feature Articles, Technical Insight, District Updates, Member Spotlight and News.

He disclosed that the newsletter would be published in both print and digital formats on a monthly basis, with language deliberately simplified to make it accessible to a wider audience without compromising technical depth.
Adesina added that each edition would focus on contemporary professional issues, including sustainability reporting, the evolving role of accountants in public governance and the impact of artificial intelligence on audit and assurance.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Publication and Editorial Committee said the decision to establish the district newsletter was driven by the desire to provide a platform for articulating the knowledge, experience and professional insights of members.
He noted that the publication must continue to serve members, uphold professional standards and remain active and responsive to emerging developments in the accounting profession.
He encouraged members to see the newsletter not merely as a publication but as an invitation to read, reflect, contribute and participate in the intellectual development of the ICAN Oluyole and District Society.
