The group persuaded him to declare for the 2023 presidency as their leaders took turns to demand for his return to office in 2023.

In his response, Jonathan expressed appreciated to the group, saying, “You are calling me to come and declare. I cannot tell you I am declaring now but the political process is still ongoing.”

The former president lost in the 2015 election as President Muhammadu Buhari emerged victorious.
