For the management and staff of Kakanfo Inn and Conference Centre, Ibadan, Saturday, January 15 was a special day set aside for celebration.

And again, for both the employers and the employees of the four-star hotel sitting at the Mobil end of Ring Road, Ibadan, it was a day to reward hard work and diligence.

It provided an opportunity to review the activities of 2021, strategize on way forward for the hotel and get the staff together to unwind and savour the cozy and charming ambience of the organisation for which they work and earn their living.

The New Year Party, award and presentation of cheques to staff of the hotel, held at the Lekan Are Hall, garnered a wide array of the personnel and friends of the organisation.

Mogaji Tunde Aboderin and Mrs Riskat Abass, Retail Cluster Head of Wema Bank in Ibadan; and many other personalities graced the occasion alongside Mama Bisi Are, wife of late Dr Lalekan Are, a descendant of Are Latoosa, the 12th Are Onakakanfo of the ancient Oyo Empire and founder of Kakanfo Inn and Conference Centre.

More than a dozen outstanding staff of the hotel were rewarded with cash gifts and awards of excellence at the New Year Party.

Among the recipients of the awards are Deji Aboderin who heads Club XS; Bukola Odafe-Fakeye, Human Resources Manager of the hotel; and Nkwoye Kelachukwu, winner of the most valuable transport and security team 2021.

Other winners include Sola Makinde, Owolabi Adegoke, Felix Umoren, Ayomide Afolabi, Ndem Onyebuchi, Haruna Sunday, Dennis Williams and Marvelous Adadu, who won the most versatile team member for 2021.

In his statement made available to Oyo Reporters at the sideline of the event, Mr Damola Are, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Kakanfo Inn and Conference, said that the event was aimed at “appreciating and recognizing last year’s top performers and motivate the entire team forward as we go into 2022.

“My advice for the staff of the hotel is to create a solid and memorable customer experience, exhibit integrity and always maintain a positive character.”

Some young smart steppers, including the Golden Stars Dancers, held the gathering spellbound in ecstacy with wonderful dance steps on the occasion.
