The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has strongly condemned the brutal killing of two undergraduates of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), in Ondo State, demanding swift and comprehensive justice for the victims.
In a statement issued on Friday and signed by its National Public Relations Officer, Adeyemi Ajasa, NANS described the incident as “barbaric” and “heart-wrenching,” insisting that violence against students must never be tolerated.
The two students were reportedly abducted and later found murdered in an undisclosed location—an act that has thrown the university community into mourning and sparked widespread outrage.

“This heinous crime is not only deeply saddening but also underscores the grave security challenges confronting young Nigerians in their quest for education and a better life,” the statement said.
NANS commended the Ondo State Police Command for arresting key suspects, including the landlord of one of the deceased, Oladele Femi, while calling for intensified efforts to track down other individuals connected to the crime.
“We appreciate the swift action taken by the police in arresting some suspects and urge them not to relent until every person involved in this gruesome murder is brought to justice,” Ajasa stated.
The association expressed its condolences to the bereaved families and the AAUA community, referring to the deceased as “our beloved departed comrades.”
Reiterating its longstanding call for better security across all campuses and their surrounding communities, NANS emphasized that the safety of students must be treated as a national priority to prevent future tragedies.
“This tragedy reinforces our demand for urgent and sustained improvements in campus security nationwide,” the statement concluded.
