The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says it has killed more than 30 terrorists in a coordinated operation with ground troops in Borno State.
NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, disclosed in a statement on Friday that the strikes were carried out on September 5, 2025, at Dar-El-Jamal village in Bama Local Government Area.
The mission followed reports of intense clashes between terrorists and troops in the area.

Ejodame explained that the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai deployed Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms alongside air interdiction missions.
According to him, aircrews identified terrorists attempting to flee and executed three precise strikes that eliminated over 30 insurgents. Reinforcement troops later moved in to secure the location.
“The operation highlights the seamless synergy between air and ground forces, underscoring our commitment to dismantling terrorist networks, protecting vulnerable communities, and restoring stability in the North East,” Ejodame said.
Borno and other parts of the North East remain flashpoints for Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) attacks, which have claimed tens of thousands of lives and displaced millions.
Since 2021, the military has intensified its counter-insurgency campaign under Operation Hadin Kai, reclaiming territories and disrupting insurgent activities. Recent successes have been recorded in Bama, Konduga and Marte.
However, sporadic attacks persist, reflecting the ongoing security challenges in the region.
