Following the confirmation of Oba Kazeem Adegboye as the Onisanbo of Ogbooro by Governor Seyi Makinde, the kingmakers have begun the traditional rites for the Oba-elect.
The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, on January 27, 2019, who is the consenting authority, approved the candidature of Adegboye to the royal stool.
Ogbooro is an ancient town in Ifeloju Local Council Development Area, in Oke Ogun area of Oyo State.
The Oba-elect, from the Adegboye Ruling House, is an Electrical and Electronics Engineering graduate of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso.
His emergence was ratified by Governor Seyi Makinde in a letter dated July 22, 2020 titled, ‘Re-filling of vacant stool of Onisanbo of Ogbooro.’
The letter from the state government read in parts, “I am directed to refer you to the above subject and inform you with great pleasure that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has graciously approved your appointment as the Onisanbo of Ogbooro in Saki East Local Government Area with effect from 17th July, 2020.”
Born on May 4, 1976, the Oba attended A.U.D. Primary School Ogbooro; Community Grammar School, Ogbooro; Saint Bernadine’s Grammar School, Oyo; and Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, where he graduated in 2005.
Among others, he worked at Link Soft Communications Systems Limited, Abuja; Laplace/ZTE Nigeria Limited, Abuja and the Polytechnic, Ibadan (Saki Campus), as a part-time lecturer.
Oba Adegboye is married and blessed with children.
