Oba Adetunji spoke on Friday during the installation of Chief Yekini Abass, a.k.a YK Abass as the new Babaloja of Oyo State.

He described the new Babaloja as a successful business administrator and sports enthusiast, adding that the peace in the markets would, invariably translate to peace for all.

He said the experience being garnered by the new Babaloja would put pay to the occasional disagreements among the market leaders in Ibadan.

He said, “Yekini Abass is the right and credible individual to lead traders in the state considering the contributions of the new Babaloja to the development of Oyo States.

“The newly installed Babaloja is lucky. His installation is also success for the entire people of the state.”

Abass expressed the readiness of his members to take the interest of the buyers as important, saying, “In line with the advice given by the Olubadan, as well as the policy of Governor Seyi Makinde’s government, we shall ensure that peace and harmony reign in our midst.”

The Minister of Sports, Mr Sunday Dare, who visited the monarch, expressed his joy over Olubadan’s 92nd birthday, saying he would witness more remarkable developments.

“As indicated earlier, sports development is critical to the Federal Government. We would do everything possible to upgrade the existing sporting facilities in the land. We are ready to partner state governments and other stakeholders in this respect.”

Among those who were present on the occasion are the Otun Olubadan of Ibadan, High Chief Lekan Balogun; the Balogun of Ibadan, High Chief Owolabi Olakunleyin.

Others are High Chief Eddy Oyewole, High Chief Gbadamosi Adebimpe, High Chief Kola Adegbola, High Chief Amidu Ajibade and High Chief Azeez Agagagugu.
