AKINWALE ABOLUWADE
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, on Sunday paid a courtesy visit to the Olubadan-designate, Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, at his Bodija residence in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The visit comes ahead of Ladoja’s official coronation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, scheduled for Friday, September 26, 2025.
He is set to succeed Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, who passed on July 7, 2025, at the age of 90.
The Ooni, who arrived at exactly 2:12 p.m., was warmly received by a large crowd of residents, high chiefs, Baales, Mogajis, socio-cultural groups, and title holders.
The atmosphere was festive, with drumming, singing, and dancing to herald the royal guest’s arrival.
Oba Ogunwusi was received at the entrance by Senator Ladoja, who was flanked by members of the Olubadan-in-Council.
Both monarchs exchanged warm pleasantries before proceeding indoors for private discussions believed to center on traditional protocols and the forthcoming coronation ceremony.
The Ooni’s visit is seen as a symbolic gesture underscoring unity among Yoruba traditional rulers and the significance of Ibadan in the history of the South-West.
