Oyo confirms 27 new COVID-19 cases from iSON Xperiences, frees 9 recovered patients

The Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force has reported that 27 more cases have been recorded from iSON Xperiences in Ibadan South West Local Government Area of the state. 
The state task force also confirmed one new COVID-19 positive case each from Ibadan South West, Ibadan South East and Oluyole local goverment council areas.
Governor Seyi Makinde, who made the disclosure, on Saturday, said this brings the total number of cases from iSON Xperiences to 143 with total figure in the state as of the time of filing this report standing at 233.
Makinde, who doubles as the Chairman, Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force, released the figure via his verified Twitter handle. 
He wrote, “Nine confirmed COVID-19 patients have received their second negative test results and have been discharged. This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to 58.
“Also, the COVID-19 confirmation tests for 30 suspected cases came back positive. Twenty-seven cases are from iSON Xperiences and one each from Ibadan SW, Ibadan South East and Oluyole local goverment council areas. 
“So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State as at 5.30pm today (Saturday) is 233.”
Noting that many COVID-19 cases are asymptomatic, he wrote, “It is important to wear your face masks in public places, practice social distancing, and wash your hands with soap and water regularly.
“Please call the Emergency Operations Centre if you have any COVID-19 symptoms: cough, fever, tiredness, body ache and shortness of breath.”
