This came as his contemporaries from Oyo North, Abdulfatai Buhari; and Oyo Central, Yunus Akintunde, emerged as senate committee chairmen on Aviation and Environment respectively.

Their appointment as chairmen of the committees was announced at the Red Chambers of the National Assembly by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, on Monday.
Alli, a first term lawmaker, was also appointed as Vice-Chairman, Senate Committee on Customs.

The senator was, at different times, Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Chief of Staff to the Ibadan North Local Government Chairman, and Chairman, Odu’a Investment Company Limited.

Alli, who was also President of Omo Ajorosun Club in Ibadan, is the Maye Balogun of Ibadanland.

A statement signed and made available to journalists by his Media Aide, Akeem Abass, on Tuesday, read that his latest appointment has continued to attract congratulatory messages from groups and prominent personalities across all walks of life, describing his appointment as ‘well deserved.’

It summed, “They have all expressed confidence in Alli’s capabilities to lead the Committee and achieve unprecedented successes.”
