A leading Nigerian lawyer, Chief Adeniyi Akintola (SAN), says that the University of Ibadan has become a global brand worth of celebration.
Akintola spoke recently while being decorated as a UI@75 Ambassador in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The legal luminary said that UI had outgrown Ibadan and Nigeria as it rose to become a global brand worthy of celebration.
“There are only two universities in Nigeria, the University of Ibadan and the rest,” the Senior Advocate of Nigeria, said.
He explained that the University of Ibadan made him what he is today, with a Master’s degree in Political Science and an LLB in Law.
As an alumnus of UI, he said he was able to make an inroad into the international community while trying to open his office in South Africa.
Donating N10million to the University, the chief said as an indigent student, he had extended assistance to indigent students and was willing to do more.
The leading Nigerian lawyer was accompanied by his wife, Honourable Justice Boyede Akintola, of the Oyo State Judiciary, members of his staff and his political associates.
