The 2003 presidential candidate of National Action Council, Dr. Olapade Agoro, has warned against the impending danger of terrorism in the country saying the situation becomes worse due to neglect on the part of the leadership.

Agoro, who is the Owatapa of Itapa Ijesa, spoke in reaction to the recent killings in Southern Kaduna in a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan recently.

The statement read in parts, “Common sense dictates that there must be an end to a nonsense. That the hell let loose currently on the nation forced the Emir of Daura, Dr Umar Farouk, to declared that the multifaceted security threats facing the nation is worse than civil war, correctly say it all beyond doubts and questioning.

“Or, how else can I classify the blood drinking Dracula orgy of reported 62 Christians killed by Fulani terrorists in Kaduna State within just one week of July 25 in addition to previous over 300 lives of helpless Christians mowed down and houses razed?

“It becomes highly embarrassing that at a time helpless Christians in Southern Kaduna were getting mowed down in hundreds and without President Muhammadu Buhari showing deep concern, he had courage to take flight to Mali to midwife peace at expensive cost to we Nigerians.

“In a dilemma of political inconsideration, the Federal Government at about same time the nation’s roof was on fire, was celebrating 601 stupidly termed repentant Boko Haram terrorists and without consideration for thousands of lives those evil ones had wasted.

“It becomes worrisome that in this period while the world is inundated with horrors of crime against humanity in Darfur, Sudan, another one is being allowed to be repeated in Southern Kaduna, Nigeria.

“It behooves to say that unless those with common sense and respect for humanity come quickly now to belt down the ravaging wild dogs, the lives of the innocent would be lost without remedies.Terrorism, take it or not, has taken over Nigeria.”
